Update- Prayers for Paul
“I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next.” ― Gilda Radner
We are still on the floor and we think Paul might be dealing with a virus. He looks sick, red eyes, lots of junk, and generally lethargic. He has had low grade fevers. The doctors and nurses are watching him closely and for three days now they have heard a gallop rhythm in Paul’s heart beat. It sounds like horses galloping when we can hear it. This could be a minor thing related to fluid balance but there are also some scarier things it could be about. Gallops can be a sign of heart dysfunction/ regurgitation. We are scared and are asking everyone to pray that this is NOTHING and not really something major. Please pray that his little lungs get better and he starts to feel better. He continues to have a hard time feeding and his voice is really hoarse. Tomorrow he will have an echo to address the gallop, an ENT consult to address the vocal chord hoarseness and a PT/OT visit, as he has been here for a while now and is losing a bit of muscle control in his head.
In better news, his chyle has resolved with the introduction of monogen and he got 2 chest tubes pulled today. He is starting to sound a little better and is resting very well. He has had a bunch of visitors this weekend including his beloved Mom-Mom all the way from New York. He also loves the gals and guys on the cardiac floor, they make the days of uncertainty bearable.
We appreciate your continued support and can’t begin to tell you how much healing prayers and good vibes mean to us.
