8 months old today
Paul has been having such a wonderful month. It’s so hard to believe that he has been home for so long and is doing normal baby things! Our days are spent going to the park, playing with Ruby the dog, having lunch with friends, reading, and snuggling. Paul smiles and laughs a lot. He loves Mickey Mouse and being around people. He has been enjoying physical therapy and is eating almost a whole jar of baby food everyday. Next Monday, we will begin weaning Paul’s diuretics. I am a bit nervous about this as he has been on 3x’s a day lasix since he was born. However, we will go down to 2x’s a day on Monday as lasix is not a permanent solution to fluid balance. Then, on August 20th we go to cardiology. This visit is BIG for Paul. We will have blood work, a chest xray, an echo, an EKG, and a general check up. We are deeply praying for good news. I desperately hope that his heart function has returned and that his body is managing the new diuretic regimen well. We also pray for no other new issues and an uneventful check up.
Today Paul is 8 MONTHS OLD! This is a victory for our whole family. We did not know if we would ever get to this point and here we are. I can’t begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed these last 8 months. I am incredibly privileged and honored to be Paul’s mommy. That and being Dan’s wife are the best things I have ever done, hands down. Being a wife and mother are my favorite things in the whole wide world. Thanks for following our journey and for falling in love with Paul as we do more and more each day.
