"The House is Not on Fire"
We got news from The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia on Friday. They reviewed Paul’s echos and were very encouraged. Dr. Jack Rychik called me and the first thing he said was “the house is not on fire.” He felt that the heart function and tricuspid regurgitation were in the range where Vanderbilt indicated they are initially. They do want to do an MRI for Paul early next year to gather some baseline data and suggested increasing his enalapril significantly. They do, however, feel encouraged by what they saw. We are officially transferring Paul’s primary care to CHOP and Dr. Rychik effective immediately. We will continue to see doctors at Vanderbilt for local follow up but CHOP will architect the care. We are so blessed to have found CHOP and Dr. Rychik and are continually blessed by the care Paul gets at Vanderbilt. This weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors Annual Meeting. It has been two years since I attended and about a year since I have been actively interacting with many folks in the field. The warm welcome and care for our family expressed from the membership at AFA was overwhelming. I got to spend time with Phired Up staff and two of my legendary former supervisors (Stephannie and Ross). It is Paul’s first birthday on the 8th!!! We will post an extensive blog about the festivities. For now, we are enjoying our little family so much and appreciate all of your support.
