In His Time
We got the best news at cardiology on Monday. Paul’s function has improved significantly and I believe this is a testimony to how the prayer and support from all of you is working. We are, of course, not out of the woods and in some ways we never will be. Dr. Parra was really pleased and indicated that Paul’s fractional area change ( a measure of right ventricle function) was close to normal and that the tricuspid valve regurgitation looks better. CHOP has also weighed in and is going to review the echo findings and talk about next steps. In a way we are conflicted about the MRI- we have some docs telling us to do it and soon and others saying it may not be necessary given the echo results of late- we will see. The fact remains that echo is not the best measure of right ventricle function. It’s hard to “let go” a little but we are trying.
We loved seeing everyone at VCH and felt a lot of love and as if folks were sharing in our victory. Paul is growing (though not as fast as we would like) but he is growing and being a toddler. He is babbling, crawling around and standing and walking with assistance. He loves playing with toys and his dog Ruby! In recent news, Paul got yet another haircut- it had to be done.
We send love and thanks and praise to God and to all of you for walking with us on this journey. I read a quote the other day that a fellow heart Mom posted “don’t mistake God’s patience for His absence- His timing is perfect and His presence is constant.”
