Two Steps Forward, One Step Back
Yesterday baby Paul had a huge day! He was extubated and had two chest tubes taken out! The entire team of doctors were smiling ear to ear this morning as we all watched Paul begin to look and act like a typical baby again. We started to name his little animals on his mobile and were settling in to spend an uneventful day as a family. Unfortunately, little Paul’s lungs had other plans. This morning his heart rate got dangerously high (200 plus bpm) and the right upper chamber of his lung collapsed. This is fairly common after being intubated for a while and after major heart surgery. We are now asking for prayers that Paul will improve tonight and that this minor hiccup is just that- a bump in the road. We are so thankful for all of you and appreciate your prayers and support.
